Bradford Man Charged with Two Terrorism Offences

29 year old Asim Majid of Cranbourne Road, Bradford has today (Thursday, June 21) appeared before Westminster Magistrates charged with offences under the Terrorism Act.

Majid was remanded in custody to appear at the Central Criminal Court (Old Bailey) on Friday, June 29.

A 29 year old man from Bradford has today, Wednesday June 20, been charged with two terrorism offences following an investigation by Counter Terrorism Policing North East (CTP NE).

He was arrested by CTP NE officers on Wednesday June 13 following an intelligence led investigation.

The 29 year old man has been charged with one offence contrary to Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000 (Possessing a record of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of Terrorism) and also an offence contrary to Section 17 Terrorism Act 2000 (Terrorist Funding).

He has been remanded in custody and will appear before Westminster Magistrates on Thursday June 21.
